부대 편성 및 행군 순서

1주님께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다. 2“이스라엘 자손이 진을 칠 때에는, 회막을 중심으로 하여 그 둘레에 진을 치되, 각기 자기가 속한 부대기가 있는 곳에다 자기 가문의 깃발을 함께 세우고 진을 쳐야 한다.

3동쪽, 곧 해 뜨는 쪽에 진을 칠 부대는 유다 진영의 깃발 아래에 소속된 부대들이다. 유다 자손의 지휘관은 암미나답의 아들 나손이다. 4그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 칠만 사천육백 명이다. 5유다 자손의 한쪽 옆에는 잇사갈 지파가 진을 친다. 잇사갈 자손의 지휘관은 수알의 아들 느다넬이다. 6그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 오만 사천사백 명이다. 7유다 자손의 또 다른 한쪽 옆에는 스불론 지파가 진을 친다. 스불론 자손의 지휘관은 헬론의 아들 엘리압이다. 8그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 오만 칠천사백 명이다. 9유다 진영에 소속된 각 부대의 군인 수는 모두 더하여 십팔만 육천사백 명이다. 행군할 때에는 유다 진영이 첫 번째로 출발한다.

10남쪽에 진을 칠 부대는 르우벤 진영의 깃발 아래 소속된 부대들이다. 르우벤 자손의 지휘관은 스데울의 아들 엘리술이다. 11그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 사만 육천오백 명이다.

12 르우벤 자손의 한쪽 옆에는 시므온 지파가 진을 친다. 시므온 자손의 지휘관은 수리삿대의 아들 슬루미엘이다. 13그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 오만 구천삼백 명이다. 14르우벤 자손의 또 다른 한쪽 옆에는 갓 지파가 진을 친다. 갓 자손의 지휘관은 르우엘의 아들 엘리아삽이다. 15그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 모두 더하여 사만 오천육백오십 명이다. 16르우벤 진영에 소속된 각 부대의 군인 수는 모두 더하여 십오만 천사백오십 명이다. 행군할 때에는 르우벤 진영이 두 번째로 출발한다.

17다음에는 회막이 레위 사람의 진영과 함께 출발하여, 모든 군대의 가운데 서서 나아간다. 각 부대는 진을 칠 때와 같은 순서로 출발하되, 각기 자기의 부대기를 앞세우고 제자리를 지켜야 한다.

18서쪽에 진을 칠 부대는 에브라임 진영의 깃발 아래 소속된 부대들이다. 에브라임 자손의 지휘관은 암미훗의 아들 엘리사마이다. 19그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 사만 오백 명이다.

20 에브라임 자손의 한쪽 옆에는 므낫세 지파가 진을 친다. 므낫세 자손의 지휘관은 브다술의 아들 가말리엘이다. 21그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 삼만 이천이백 명이다. 22에브라임 자손의 또 다른 한쪽 옆에는 베냐민 지파가 진을 친다. 베냐민 자손의 지휘관은 기드오니의 아들 아비단이다. 23그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 삼만 오천사백 명이다. 24에브라임 진영에 소속된 각 부대의 군인 수는 모두 더하여 십만 팔천백 명이다. 행군할 때에는 에브라임 진영이 세 번째로 출발한다.

25북쪽에 진을 칠 부대는 단 진영의 깃발 아래 소속된 부대들이다. 단 자손의 지휘관은 암미삿대의 아들 아히에셀이다. 26그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 육만 이천칠백 명이다. 27단 자손의 한쪽 옆에는 아셀 지파가 진을 친다. 아셀 자손의 지휘관은 오그란의 아들 바기엘이다. 28그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 사만 천오백 명이다.

29 단 자손의 또 다른 한쪽 옆에는 납달리 지파가 진을 친다. 납달리 자손의 지휘관은 에난의 아들 아히라이다. 30그가 이끌 부대의 군인 수는 오만 삼천사백 명이다. 31단 진영에 소속된 각 부대의 군인 수는 모두 더하여 십오만 칠천육백 명이다. 행군할 때에는 단 진영이 그들의 부대기를 앞세우고 마지막으로 출발한다.”

32다음은 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 집안별로 병적부에 오른 사람들의 숫자이다. 모든 진영 각 부대에 소속된 군인의 수는 모두 더하여 육십만 삼천오백오십 명이다. 33그러나 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 레위 사람들은, 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 대로, 병적부에 올리지 않았다.

34이처럼 이스라엘 자손은, 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 대로 다 하였다. 그리하여 그들은 각기 가문별, 가족별로, 자기들의 깃발 아래에, 진도 치고 행군도 하였다.

 

 

 

 

 

Numbers 2

The Arrangement of the Tribal Camps

1The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: 2“The Israelites are to camp around the tent of meeting some distance from it, each of them under their standard and holding the banners of their family.”

3On the east, toward the sunrise, the divisions of the camp of Judah are to encamp under their standard. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab. 4His division numbers 74,600.

5The tribe of Issachar will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar. 6His division numbers 54,400.

7The tribe of Zebulun will be next. The leader of the people of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon. 8His division numbers 57,400.

9All the men assigned to the camp of Judah, according to their divisions, number 186,400. They will set out first.

10On the south will be the divisions of the camp of Reuben under their standard. The leader of the people of Reuben is Elizur son of Shedeur. 11His division numbers 46,500.

12The tribe of Simeon will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai. 13His division numbers 59,300.

14The tribe of Gad will be next. The leader of the people of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel. 15His division numbers 45,650.

16All the men assigned to the camp of Reuben, according to their divisions, number 151,450. They will set out second.

17Then the tent of meeting and the camp of the Levites will set out in the middle of the camps. They will set out in the same order as they encamp, each in their own place under their standard.

18On the west will be the divisions of the camp of Ephraim under their standard. The leader of the people of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud. 19His division numbers 40,500.

20The tribe of Manasseh will be next to them. The leader of the people of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur. 21His division numbers 32,200.

22The tribe of Benjamin will be next. The leader of the people of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni. 23His division numbers 35,400.

24All the men assigned to the camp of Ephraim, according to their divisions, number 108,100. They will set out third.

25On the north will be the divisions of the camp of Dan under their standard. The leader of the people of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai. 26His division numbers 62,700.

27The tribe of Asher will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Asher is Pagiel son of Okran. 28His division numbers 41,500.

29The tribe of Naphtali will be next. The leader of the people of Naphtali is Ahira son of Enan. 30His division numbers 53,400.

31All the men assigned to the camp of Dan number 157,600. They will set out last, under their standards.

32These are the Israelites, counted according to their families. All the men in the camps, by their divisions, number 603,550. 33The Levites, however, were not counted along with the other Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.

34So the Israelites did everything the Lord commanded Moses; that is the way they encamped under their standards, and that is the way they set out, each of them with their clan and family.

아론의 아들들

1주님께서 시내 산에서 모세에게 말씀하시던 때에, 아론과 모세에게 아들들이 있었다. 2아론의 아들들의 이름은, 맏아들은 나답이요, 다음은 아비후와 엘르아살과 이다말이다. 3그들은, 아론의 아들들로서 제사장의 임무를 맡도록, 기름부어 제사장으로 거룩하게 구별된 사람들이다. 4나답과 아비후는, 시내 광야에서 주님께 금지된 불을 드리다가 주님 앞에서 죽었는데, 아들이 없이 죽었기 때문에, 엘르아살과 이다말만이 그들의 아버지 아론 앞에서 제사장 일을 맡아 하였다.

제사장을 돕는 레위 사람

5주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 6“너는 레위 지파를 불러내어, 그들을 제사장 아론 밑에 두고 그를 돕게 하여라. 7레위 지파 사람은 성막에서 봉사하는 사람들로서, 아론과 온 회중이 회막 앞에서 제사를 드릴 때에, 그 일을 돌볼 사람들이다. 8그들은 성막에서 봉사하는 사람들로서, 회막 안에 있는 모든 기구를 보살피고, 이스라엘 자손이 해야 할 일을 돌보아야 한다. 9너는 레위 사람을 아론과 그 아들들에게 맡겨라. 그들은 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 뽑혀, 아론에게 아주 맡겨진 사람들이다. 10너는 아론과 그의 아들들을 제사장으로 임명하여, 그 직무를 맡아 보게 하여라. 다른 사람이 성소에 가까이하였다가는 죽을 것이다.”

11주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 12“나는 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 레위 사람을 택하여, 처음 태어나는 모든 맏아들, 곧 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 태를 처음 열고 나오는 사람을 대신하게 하였다. 레위 사람은 나의 것이다. 13처음 난 것은 모두 나의 것이기 때문이다. 내가 이집트 땅에서 첫 번째로 난 모든 것을 칠 때에, 사람이든지 짐승이든지, 이스라엘에서 처음 난 것은 모두 거룩하게 구별하여 나의 것으로 삼았다. 나는 주다.”

레위 사람 인구조사

14주님께서 시내 광야에서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 15“너는 레위 자손을 가족별, 가문별로 등록시켜라. 그들 가운데서 태어난 지 한 달이 넘은 남자는 모두 등록시켜라.” 16모세는 주님의 명을 따라, 지시받은 대로 그들을 등록시켰다. 17레위의 아들들의 이름은 게르손과 고핫과 므라리이다. 18게르손의 아들들의 이름은, 가문별로는 립니와 시므이이다. 19고핫의 아들들은, 가문별로는 아므람과 이스할과 헤브론과 웃시엘이다. 20므라리의 아들들은, 가문별로는 마흘리와 무시이다.

레위의 가족들을 가문별로 들어 보면 다음과 같다.

21 게르손에게서는 립니 자손 가족과 시므이 자손 가족이 나왔다. 이들이 게르손 자손의 가족들이다. 22태어난 지 한 달이 넘은 남자를 등록시키니, 모두 칠천오백 명이었다. 23게르손 자손의 가족들은 성막 뒤 서쪽에 진을 치게 되어 있었다. 24게르손 자손 가문의 원로는 라엘의 아들 엘리아삽이다. 25게르손 자손이 회막에서 맡은 일은, 성막과 장막과 그 덮개와 회막 어귀에 치는 휘장과 26뜰의 휘장과 성막과 그 가운데 제단을 둘러싼 뜰의 어귀에 치는 휘장과 이 모든 것에 쓰는 여러 가지 줄들을 보살피는 것이다.

27 고핫에게서는 아므람 자손 가족과 이스할 자손 가족과 헤브론 자손 가족과 웃시엘 자손 가족이 나왔다. 이들이 고핫 자손의 가족들이다. 28태어난 지 한 달이 넘은 남자의 수는 모두 팔천육백 명이다. 이들은 성소의 일을 맡았다. 29고핫 자손의 가족들은 성막의 남쪽에 진을 치게 되어 있었다. 30고핫 가문 가족의 원로는 웃시엘의 아들 엘리사반이다. 31그들의 임무는 법궤와 상과 등잔대와 제단들과 제사드릴 때에 쓰는 거룩한 도구들과 휘장과, 이것들에 관련된 모든 예식을 보살피는 것이다. 32레위 사람의 최고 원로는 제사장 아론의 아들 엘르아살이고, 그는 성소의 일을 맡은 이들을 감독하는 책임을 맡았다.

33 므라리에게서는 마흘리 자손 가족과 무시 자손 가족이 나왔다. 이들이 므라리의 가족들이다. 34태어난 지 한 달이 넘은 남자를 등록시키니, 모두 육천이백 명이다. 35므라리 자손 가문의 원로는 아비하일의 아들 수리엘이다. 그들은 성막 북쪽에 진을 치게 되어 있었다. 36므라리 자손에게 부여된 임무는, 성막의 널빤지들과 가로다지들과 기둥들과 밑받침들과 거기에 딸린 모든 기구와, 이것들에 관련된 모든 예식을 보살피는 것이다. 37이 밖에도, 뜰 둘레에 세우는 기둥들과 밑받침들과 말뚝들과 여러 가지 줄들을 보살피는 일이 있다.

38 모세와 아론과 아론의 아들들은 성막 앞, 곧 회막 정면, 해 뜨는 동쪽에 진을 치게 되어 있었다. 그들은 이스라엘 자손의 직무를 대신하여 성소에서 직무를 맡은 이들이다. 여느 사람이 가까이 갔다가는 죽었다. 39등록된 모든 레위 사람, 곧 주님께서 분부하신 대로, 모세와 아론이 가족별로 등록시킨 사람들은, 태어난 지 한 달이 넘은 남자들인데, 모두 이만 이천 명이었다.

레위 사람이 맏아들 구실을 하다

40주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “이스라엘 자손 가운데서, 태어난 지 한 달이 넘은 맏아들은 모두 등록시키고, 명단을 작성하여라. 41나는 주다. 너는 이스라엘 자손의 모든 맏아들 대신 레위 사람을 구별하여 세우고, 또 이스라엘 자손의 모든 가축 맏배 대신 레위 사람의 가축 맏배를 구별하여 세워서, 나의 몫으로 삼아라.” 42모세는, 주님께서 자기에게 명하신 대로, 이스라엘 자손 가운데 있는 모든 맏아들을 다 등록시켰다. 43태어난 지 한 달이 넘은 이들로서, 명단에 등록된 맏아들은 모두 이만 이천이백칠십삼 명이었다.

44주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 45“너는 이스라엘 자손의 모든 맏아들 대신 레위 사람을 구별하여 세우고, 이스라엘 자손의 가축 맏배 대신 레위 사람의 가축 맏배를 구별하여 세워라. 레위 사람은 나의 몫이다. 나는 주다. 46이스라엘 자손의 맏아들은, 그 수효가 레위 사람보다 이백칠십삼 명이 더 많으므로, 나머지 사람은 그 수만큼 속전, 곧 물어 내는 값을 치러야 한다. 47한 사람에 오 세겔씩 물도록 하여라. 세겔은 성소에서 따르는 방식대로 이십 게라를 한 세겔로 계산하여라. 48그 돈은, 아론과 그 아들들에게 주어서, 나머지 사람을 물어내기 위하여 치른 속전으로 삼아라.” 49그리하여 모세는 레위 사람을 대신 세워 속하고, 그 나머지 사람에게서 속전을 거두었다. 50그가 이스라엘 자손의 맏아들에게서 거둔 속전은 성소의 세겔로 천삼백육십오 세겔이었다. 51주님께서 말씀하신 대로, 모세는 그 속전을 아론과 그의 아들들에게 주었다. 모세는 이처럼 주님께서 명하신 대로 하였다.

 

 

 

 

Numbers 3

The Levites

1This is the account of the family of Aaron and Moses at the time the Lord spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai.

2The names of the sons of Aaron were Nadab the firstborn and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 3Those were the names of Aaron’s sons, the anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests. 4Nadab and Abihu, however, died before the Lord when they made an offering with unauthorized fire before him in the Desert of Sinai. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father Aaron.

5The Lord said to Moses, 6“Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him. 7They are to perform duties for him and for the whole community at the tent of meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle. 8They are to take care of all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, fulfilling the obligations of the Israelites by doing the work of the tabernacle. 9Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to him. 10Appoint Aaron and his sons to serve as priests; anyone else who approaches the sanctuary is to be put to death.”

11The Lord also said to Moses, 12“I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites in place of the first male offspring of every Israelite woman. The Levites are mine, 13for all the firstborn are mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, whether human or animal. They are to be mine. I am the Lord.”

14The Lord said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai, 15“Count the Levites by their families and clans. Count every male a month old or more.” 16So Moses counted them, as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.

17These were the names of the sons of Levi:

Gershon, Kohath and Merari.

18These were the names of the Gershonite clans:

Libni and Shimei.

19The Kohathite clans:

Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.

20The Merarite clans:

Mahli and Mushi.

These were the Levite clans, according to their families.

21To Gershon belonged the clans of the Libnites and Shimeites; these were the Gershonite clans. 22The number of all the males a month old or more who were counted was 7,500. 23The Gershonite clans were to camp on the west, behind the tabernacle. 24The leader of the families of the Gershonites was Eliasaph son of Lael. 25At the tent of meeting the Gershonites were responsible for the care of the tabernacle and tent, its coverings, the curtain at the entrance to the tent of meeting, 26the curtains of the courtyard, the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard surrounding the tabernacle and altar, and the ropes—and everything related to their use.

27To Kohath belonged the clans of the Amramites, Izharites, Hebronites and Uzzielites; these were the Kohathite clans. 28The number of all the males a month old or more was 8,600. The Kohathites were responsible for the care of the sanctuary. 29The Kohathite clans were to camp on the south side of the tabernacle. 30The leader of the families of the Kohathite clans was Elizaphan son of Uzziel. 31They were responsible for the care of the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the articles of the sanctuary used in ministering, the curtain, and everything related to their use. 32The chief leader of the Levites was Eleazar son of Aaron, the priest. He was appointed over those who were responsible for the care of the sanctuary.

33To Merari belonged the clans of the Mahlites and the Mushites; these were the Merarite clans. 34The number of all the males a month old or more who were counted was 6,200. 35The leader of the families of the Merarite clans was Zuriel son of Abihail; they were to camp on the north side of the tabernacle. 36The Merarites were appointed to take care of the frames of the tabernacle, its crossbars, posts, bases, all its equipment, and everything related to their use, 37as well as the posts of the surrounding courtyard with their bases, tent pegs and ropes.

38Moses and Aaron and his sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the sunrise, in front of the tent of meeting. They were responsible for the care of the sanctuary on behalf of the Israelites. Anyone else who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.

39The total number of Levites counted at the Lord’s command by Moses and Aaron according to their clans, including every male a month old or more, was 22,000.

40The Lord said to Moses, “Count all the firstborn Israelite males who are a month old or more and make a list of their names. 41Take the Levites for me in place of all the firstborn of the Israelites, and the livestock of the Levites in place of all the firstborn of the livestock of the Israelites. I am the Lord.”

42So Moses counted all the firstborn of the Israelites, as the Lord commanded him. 43The total number of firstborn males a month old or more, listed by name, was 22,273.

44The Lord also said to Moses, 45“Take the Levites in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites are to be mine. I am the Lord. 46To redeem the 273 firstborn Israelites who exceed the number of the Levites, 47collect five shekels for each one, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. 48Give the money for the redemption of the additional Israelites to Aaron and his sons.”

49So Moses collected the redemption money from those who exceeded the number redeemed by the Levites. 50From the firstborn of the Israelites he collected silver weighing 1,365 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel. 51Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and his sons, as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.

 

 

민수기 4

고핫 자손의 임무

1주님께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다.

2“레위 자손 가운데서 고핫 자손을 따로 구별하여, 가문별, 가족별로 인구를 조사하여라. 3서른 살에서 쉰 살까지 군대에 입대할 수 있는 이들로서, 회막 일을 맡을 수 있는 사람의 수를 조사하여라. 4고핫 자손은 회막 안에서 가장 거룩한 물건을 보살피는 일을 맡아야 한다.

5진을 이동할 때에는, 아론과 그의 아들들이 안으로 들어가서, 칸막이 휘장을 걷어내려, 그것으로 증거궤를 덮고, 6그 위에다 돌고래 가죽 덮개를 덮고, 또 그 위에다가는 순청색 보자기를 덮은 다음에 채를 꿴다.

7다음에는 늘 차려 놓는 상 위에다가 청색 보자기를 펴고, 그 위에다 대접들과 종지들과 부어 드리는 제물을 담는 병과 잔들을 놓고, 늘 차려 놓는 빵도 그 위에 놓는다. 8이것들은 진홍색 보자기로 덮고, 그 위에 다시 돌고래 가죽 덮개를 덮은 다음에 채를 꿴다.

9그런 다음에는 청색 보자기를 가져다가, 불 켜는 등잔대와 등잔과 부집게와 불똥접시와, 그것들과 함께 쓰는 모든 기름그릇을 싸고, 10그 등잔대와 거기에 딸린 모든 기구를 다시 돌고래 가죽 덮개로 덮어서, 들것 위에 얹는다.

11다음에는 금제단 위에 청색 보자기를 깔고, 그 위에 돌고래 가죽 덮개를 덮은 다음에 채를 꿴다. 12성소 예식에 쓰는 그 밖의 모든 기구는 청색 보자기로 싸고, 돌고래 가죽 덮개를 덮어 들것에 얹는다. 13제단의 경우는 거기에 담긴 재를 모두 쳐내고, 그 위에 자주색 보자기를 깔고, 14거기에다 예식에 쓰는 모든 기구, 곧 불 옮기는 그릇들과 고기를 집는 갈고리들과 부삽들과 쟁반 등 제단에 사용하는 모든 기구를 얹고, 돌고래 가죽 덮개로 덮은 다음에 채를 꿴다.

15진 이동을 앞두고, 이렇게 아론과 그의 아들들이 거룩한 물건들과 그 물건에 딸린 모든 기구를 다 싸 놓으면, 비로소 고핫 자손이 와서 그것들을 둘러메고 간다. 이 때에 거룩한 물건들이 그들의 몸에 닿았다가는 죽는다. 이처럼 회막의 거룩한 물건들을 옮기는 일은 바로 고핫 자손이 맡는다.

16불 켜는 기름과 분향에 쓰이는 향품과 늘 바치는 곡식제물과 성별하는 데 쓰는 기름을 비롯하여, 온 성막과 그 안에 있는, 거룩하게 구별하여 쓰는 모든 것과, 거기에 딸린 기구들은, 제사장 아론의 아들 엘르아살이 맡는다.”

17주님께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다. 18“너희는 고핫 가족들로 이루어진 갈래를 레위 사람 가운데서 끊어지지 않게 하여라. 19가장 거룩한 물건에 가까이 갈 때에, 그들이 죽지 않고 살게 하려면, 아론과 그의 아들들이 함께 들어가서, 그들 각자에게 할 일과 그들이 옮길 짐을 하나하나 정해 주어야만 한다. 20그래서 그들이 함부로 성소 안으로 들어갔다가, 순간적으로나마 거룩한 물건들을 보게 되어 죽는 일이 없게 하여야 한다.”

게르손 자손의 임무

21주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 22“너는 게르손 자손도 가족별, 가문별로 인구를 조사하여라. 23서른 살에서 쉰 살까지 군대에 입대할 수 있는 이들로서, 회막 일을 맡을 수 있는 사람을 모두 등록시켜라. 24게르손 자손의 가족들이 맡아서 해야 할 일과 메어야 할 짐은 다음과 같다. 25그들이 메어서 나를 짐은, 성막에 치는 여러 가지 천과, 회막과 그 덮개와, 그 위에 덮는 돌고래 가죽 덮개와, 회막 어귀에 치는 휘장과, 26뜰의 휘장과, 성막과 제단을 둘러싼 뜰의 문 어귀에 치는 휘장과 거기에 딸린 줄과, 일하는 데 필요한 모든 장비와 거기에 딸린 모든 기구들이다. 그들은 바로 이런 일을 해야 한다. 27게르손 자손이 해야 하는 모든 일, 곧 짐 나르는 일과 그 밖의 일은 모두 아론과 그의 아들들의 지시를 받아서 해야 한다. 그러므로 너희는 게르손 자손이 짊어지고 갈 모든 짐을 그들에게 일러주어야 한다. 28이것들이 게르손 자손 가족이 회막에서 맡은 일이다. 그들은 제사장 아론의 아들 이다말의 감독 아래 이 임무를 수행하여야 한다.”

므라리 자손의 임무

29“너는 므라리 자손도 가문별, 가족별로 등록시켜야 한다. 30서른 살에서 쉰 살까지 군대에 나갈 수 있는 이들로서, 회막 일을 맡을 수 있는 사람을 모두 등록시켜라. 31그들이 회막에서 하여야 할 모든 일은 다음과 같은 것들을 맡아서 옮기는 것이다. 그것들은 곧 성막 널빤지들과 가로다지들과 기둥들과 밑받침들과 32뜰 둘레에 세우는 기둥들과 밑받침들과 말뚝들과 줄들과 거기에 딸린 모든 기구와 그들이 일하는 데 필요한 모든 것이다. 너희는 그들이 옮겨야 할 물품의 목록을 작성하여, 그들에게 맡겨야 한다. 33이 일들은 므라리 자손 가족들이 해야 할 일이다. 그들이 회막에서 맡은 여러 가지 일은 모두 제사장 아론의 아들 이다말의 감독을 받으며 해야 한다.”

34 모세와 아론과 회중의 원로들은 가문별, 가족별로 고핫 자손을 등록시켰다. 35서른 살에서 쉰 살까지 군대에 입대할 수 있는 이들로서, 회막 일을 맡을 수 있는 사람을 36가족별로 등록시키니, 이천칠백오십 명이었다. 37이들이 바로 고핫 가족에서 등록된 모든 이들로서, 회막에서 일할 사람이었다. 모세와 아론은, 주님께서 모세를 시켜 명하신 대로, 그들을 등록시켰다.

46 모세와 아론과 이스라엘 원로들은 모든 레위 사람을 가문과 가족별로 등록시켰다. 47그들은 모두 서른 살에서 쉰 살까지 일을 감당할 수 있는 이들로서, 회막의 짐을 운반할 사람이었다. 48등록된 사람은 모두 팔천오백팔십 명이었다. 49주님께서 모세를 시켜 말씀하신 대로, 한 사람 한 사람에게 할 일과 운반할 짐을 맡겼다. 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 대로, 그들을 등록시킨 것이다.

The Kohathites

1The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: 2“Take a census of the Kohathite branch of the Levites by their clans and families. 3Count all the men from thirty to fifty years of age who come to serve in the work at the tent of meeting.

4“This is the work of the Kohathites at the tent of meeting: the care of the most holy things. 5When the camp is to move, Aaron and his sons are to go in and take down the shielding curtain and put it over the ark of the covenant law. 6Then they are to cover the curtain with a durable leather, spread a cloth of solid blue over that and put the poles in place.

7“Over the table of the Presence they are to spread a blue cloth and put on it the plates, dishes and bowls, and the jars for drink offerings; the bread that is continually there is to remain on it. 8They are to spread a scarlet cloth over them, cover that with the durable leather and put the poles in place.

9“They are to take a blue cloth and cover the lampstand that is for light, together with its lamps, its wick trimmers and trays, and all its jars for the olive oil used to supply it. 10Then they are to wrap it and all its accessories in a covering of the durable leather and put it on a carrying frame.

11“Over the gold altar they are to spread a blue cloth and cover that with the durable leather and put the poles in place.

12“They are to take all the articles used for ministering in the sanctuary, wrap them in a blue cloth, cover that with the durable leather and put them on a carrying frame.

13“They are to remove the ashes from the bronze altar and spread a purple cloth over it. 14Then they are to place on it all the utensils used for ministering at the altar, including the firepans, meat forks, shovels and sprinkling bowls. Over it they are to spread a covering of the durable leather and put the poles in place.

15“After Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy furnishings and all the holy articles, and when the camp is ready to move, only then are the Kohathites to come and do the carrying. But they must not touch the holy things or they will die. The Kohathites are to carry those things that are in the tent of meeting.

16“Eleazar son of Aaron, the priest, is to have charge of the oil for the light, the fragrant incense, the regular grain offering and the anointing oil. He is to be in charge of the entire tabernacle and everything in it, including its holy furnishings and articles.”

17The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 18“See that the Kohathite tribal clans are not destroyed from among the Levites. 19So that they may live and not die when they come near the most holy things, do this for them: Aaron and his sons are to go into the sanctuary and assign to each man his work and what he is to carry. 20But the Kohathites must not go in to look at the holy things, even for a moment, or they will die.”

The Gershonites

21The Lord said to Moses, 22“Take a census also of the Gershonites by their families and clans. 23Count all the men from thirty to fifty years of age who come to serve in the work at the tent of meeting.

24“This is the service of the Gershonite clans in their carrying and their other work: 25They are to carry the curtains of the tabernacle, that is, the tent of meeting, its covering and its outer covering of durable leather, the curtains for the entrance to the tent of meeting, 26the curtains of the courtyard surrounding the tabernacle and altar, the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard, the ropes and all the equipment used in the service of the tent. The Gershonites are to do all that needs to be done with these things. 27All their service, whether carrying or doing other work, is to be done under the direction of Aaron and his sons. You shall assign to them as their responsibility all they are to carry. 28This is the service of the Gershonite clans at the tent of meeting. Their duties are to be under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron, the priest.

The Merarites

29“Count the Merarites by their clans and families. 30Count all the men from thirty to fifty years of age who come to serve in the work at the tent of meeting. 31As part of all their service at the tent, they are to carry the frames of the tabernacle, its crossbars, posts and bases, 32as well as the posts of the surrounding courtyard with their bases, tent pegs, ropes, all their equipment and everything related to their use. Assign to each man the specific things he is to carry. 33This is the service of the Merarite clans as they work at the tent of meeting under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron, the priest.”

The Numbering of the Levite Clans

34Moses, Aaron and the leaders of the community counted the Kohathites by their clans and families. 35All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to serve in the work at the tent of meeting, 36counted by clans, were 2,750. 37This was the total of all those in the Kohathite clans who served at the tent of meeting. Moses and Aaron counted them according to the Lord’s command through Moses.

38The Gershonites were counted by their clans and families. 39All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to serve in the work at the tent of meeting, 40counted by their clans and families, were 2,630. 41This was the total of those in the Gershonite clans who served at the tent of meeting. Moses and Aaron counted them according to the Lord’s command.

42The Merarites were counted by their clans and families. 43All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to serve in the work at the tent of meeting, 44counted by their clans, were 3,200. 45This was the total of those in the Merarite clans. Moses and Aaron counted them according to the Lord’s command through Moses.

46So Moses, Aaron and the leaders of Israel counted all the Levites by their clans and families. 47All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to do the work of serving and carrying the tent of meeting 48numbered 8,580. 49At the Lord’s command through Moses, each was assigned his work and told what to carry.

Thus they were counted, as the Lord commanded Moses.

부정한 사람의 처리

1주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 2“너는 이스라엘 자손에게, 악성 피부병 환자와 고름을 흘리는 사람과 주검에 닿아 부정을 탄 사람은 모두 진에서 내보내야 한다고 지시하여라. 3남자나 여자나 가릴 것 없이 똑같이 진 바깥으로 내보내어, 내가 머물고 있는 진을 더럽히지 않도록 하여라.”

4 이스라엘 자손은, 그 말씀대로 그런 사람을 진 바깥으로 내보냈다. 이스라엘 자손은 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하신 대로 하였다.

잘못에 대한 보상

5주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 6“너는 이스라엘 자손에게 일러라. 남자나 여자를 가릴 것 없이, 남에게 어떤 잘못이든지 저질러서 그 일로 주를 배신하였을 때에, 그런 사람은 자기의 잘못을 깨닫는 대로, 7자기가 저지른 잘못을 고백하고, 피해자에게 본래의 값에다가 오분의 일을 더 얹어서 갚아야 한다. 8그 피해자에게 대신 보상을 받을 근친이 없으면, 그 배상액은 죄를 속량하려고 바치는 속죄양과 함께 주님께로 돌아가, 제사장의 몫이 된다. 9또한 이스라엘 자손이 바치는 거룩한 제물 가운데서, 흔들어서 바치는 것도 모두 제사장의 몫이 된다. 10각자가 가지고 온 거룩한 제물은 가져 온 그 사람의 것이다. 그러나 그가 일단 그것을 어떤 제사장에게 주었으면, 그것은 제사장의 것이다.”

아내의 간통을 밝히는 절차

11주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 12“이스라엘 자손에게 말하여라. 네가 그들에게 전할 말은 이렇다.

어떤 남편이든지, 아내가 잘못을 저질러 남편을 배반하여, 13남편 몰래 다른 남자와 동침하였는데, 아내가 그 사실을 숨기고 있고, 그 여인이 강요받음 없이 스스로 몸을 더럽혔는데도 증인마저 없고, 현장에서 붙들리지도 않았을 경우에, 14남편이, 자기 아내가 몸을 더럽혔으므로 화가 나서 아내를 의심하게 되거나, 또는 아내가 전혀 몸을 더럽히지 않았는데도, 다만 남편이 의처증에 걸려 아내에게 미운 감정이 생기면, 15그 남편은 아내를 제사장에게 데리고 가서 아내의 몫으로 보릿가루 십분의 일 에바를 제물로 바쳐야 한다. 그 제물에는 기름을 붓거나 향을 얹을 필요가 없다. 그것은 미움 때문에 바치는 곡식제물이며, 잘못을 상기하여 기억하게 하는 곡식제물이기 때문이다.

16제사장은 그 여인을 앞으로 나오게 하여 주님 앞에 세운다. 17제사장은 거룩한 물을 오지 그릇에 한 그릇 떠다가, 성막 바닥의 흙을 긁어서 그 물에 탄다. 18제사장은 그 여인을 주 앞에 서게 한 다음, 그 여인의 머리채를 풀게 하고, 기억하게 하는 곡식제물, 곧 미움 때문에 바치는 곡식제물을 그 여인에게 주어서 들고 있게 하고, 제사장 자신은 쓴 물, 곧 저주를 내리는 물을 자기 손에 들고서, 19그 여인에게 다음과 같이 말하면서 맹세를 시킨다. ‘어떤 남자와도 동침한 일이 없고, 지금의 남편과 결혼한 이래 그를 배반하여 몸을 더럽힌 일이 없으면, 저주를 내리는 이 쓴 물이 네게 아무런 해가 되지 않을 것이다. 20그러나 네가 남편과 함께 사는 동안 그를 배반하여 네 몸을 더럽혔으면, 곧 네 남편이 아닌 다른 남자와 동침한 일이 있으면, 21(이 때에 제사장은 그 여인에게, 저주를 받아도 좋다는 맹세를 하게 한다.) 주님께서는 네 허벅지를 마르게 하고 네 배가 부어 오르게 하는 저주를 내려, 네 겨레 가운데서 너를 본보기로 삼으실 것이다. 22저주를 불러일으키는 이 물이 네 몸 속으로 들어가서, 네 배를 부어 오르게 하고, 네 허벅지를 마르게 할 것이다.’ 이렇게 제사장이 맹세를 시키면, 그 여인은 ‘아멘, 아멘!’ 하고 응답하여야 한다.

23그러면 제사장은 위에서 한 저주의 말을 글로 써서, 그 쓴 물에 담가 씻는다. 24(이 쓴 물은 저주를 불러일으키는 물로서, 제사장이 그 여인에게 마시게 하는 물이다. 저주를 불러일으키는 그 물이 그 여인의 몸 속으로 들어가면, 그 여인은 쓰라린 고통을 겪게 된다.) 25제사장은 그 여인의 손에서 미움 때문에 바치는 그 곡식제물을 받아서, 주 앞에서 흔들고, 제단으로 가져간다. 26제사장은 그 곡식제물에서 정성의 표시로 한 움큼만 집어 내어 제단에서 불사른다. 이 일이 끝나면, 마지막으로 제사장은, 그 준비된 물을 여인에게 주어 마시게 한다.

27제사장이 여인에게 물을 주어 마시게 했을 때에, 그 여인이 자기 남편을 배반하고 제 몸을 더럽힌 일이 있다면, 저주를 불러일으키는 그 물이 그 여인의 몸에 들어가면서, 여인은 쓰라린 고통과 함께 배가 부어 오르고, 허벅지가 마른다. 그러면 그 여인은 겨레 가운데서 저주받은 자가 된다. 28그러나 그 여인이 제 몸을 더럽힌 일이 없이 깨끗하면, 아무런 해도 없고, 임신에도 지장이 없다.

29이것은 여인이 남편을 두고도, 그를 배신하여 제 몸을 더럽혀, 남편에게서 미움을 받을 때에 하는 의식이다. 30때로는 남편이 공연히 의처증이 생겨 자기 아내를 미워하는 경우에도, 여인은 주님 앞에 서야 하고, 제사장은 이 의식을 그 여인에게 행하여야 한다. 31남편이 아내에게 이렇게 하여도 남편에게는 잘못이 없다. 그러나 아내에게 죄가 있으면, 아내는 그 책임을 져야 한다.”

 

 

 

Numbers 5

The Purity of the Camp

1The Lord said to Moses, 2“Command the Israelites to send away from the camp anyone who has a defiling skin disease or a discharge of any kind, or who is ceremonially unclean because of a dead body. 3Send away male and female alike; send them outside the camp so they will not defile their camp, where I dwell among them.” 4The Israelites did so; they sent them outside the camp. They did just as the Lord had instructed Moses.

Restitution for Wrongs

5The Lord said to Moses, 6“Say to the Israelites: ‘Any man or woman who wrongs another in any way and so is unfaithful to the Lord is guilty 7and must confess the sin they have committed. They must make full restitution for the wrong they have done, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the person they have wronged. 8But if that person has no close relative to whom restitution can be made for the wrong, the restitution belongs to the Lord and must be given to the priest, along with the ram with which atonement is made for the wrongdoer. 9All the sacred contributions the Israelites bring to a priest will belong to him. 10Sacred things belong to their owners, but what they give to the priest will belong to the priest.’ ”

The Test for an Unfaithful Wife

11Then the Lord said to Moses, 12“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If a man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him 13so that another man has sexual relations with her, and this is hidden from her husband and her impurity is undetected (since there is no witness against her and she has not been caught in the act), 14and if feelings of jealousy come over her husband and he suspects his wife and she is impure—or if he is jealous and suspects her even though she is not impure— 15then he is to take his wife to the priest. He must also take an offering of a tenth of an ephah of barley flour on her behalf. He must not pour olive oil on it or put incense on it, because it is a grain offering for jealousy, a reminder-offering to draw attention to wrongdoing.

16“ ‘The priest shall bring her and have her stand before the Lord. 17Then he shall take some holy water in a clay jar and put some dust from the tabernacle floor into the water. 18After the priest has had the woman stand before the Lord, he shall loosen her hair and place in her hands the reminder-offering, the grain offering for jealousy, while he himself holds the bitter water that brings a curse. 19Then the priest shall put the woman under oath and say to her, “If no other man has had sexual relations with you and you have not gone astray and become impure while married to your husband, may this bitter water that brings a curse not harm you. 20But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband”— 21here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the Lord cause you to become a curse among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.”

“ ‘Then the woman is to say, “Amen. So be it.”

23“ ‘The priest is to write these curses on a scroll and then wash them off into the bitter water. 24He shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and this water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering will enter her. 25The priest is to take from her hands the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the Lord and bring it to the altar. 26The priest is then to take a handful of the grain offering as a memorial offering and burn it on the altar; after that, he is to have the woman drink the water. 27If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. 28If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children.

29“ ‘This, then, is the law of jealousy when a woman goes astray and makes herself impure while married to her husband, 30or when feelings of jealousy come over a man because he suspects his wife. The priest is to have her stand before the Lord and is to apply this entire law to her. 31The husband will be innocent of any wrongdoing, but the woman will bear the consequences of her sin.’ ”

### 결론
현대의학에서 배가 부풀어 오르고 허벅지 근육이 마르는 증상은 복수를 일으키는 질환들이나 호르몬 이상, 만성 염증성 질환으로 설명할 수 있습니다. 민수기에서 나오는 "쓴 물"의 결과가 현대적 질병의 증상과 같지는 않지만, 당시의 사람들이 **부풀어 오르는 배와 근육 소실을 보는 것**이 신의 징벌로 여겨졌을 가능성은 충분히 있습니다.

 

 

31남편이 아내에게 이렇게 하여도 남편에게는 잘못이 없다. 그러나 아내에게 죄가 있으면, 아내는 그 책임을 져야 한다.”

-> 이 구절은 또 조금 화가난다. 여자를 의심한 죄가 없다니. 여자는 얼마나 상처를 입을까? 또 남자만 좋은말이다. 

 

하지만 욕을 하진 않겠다. 

 

그 당시에 하나님께서 그렇게 말씀하셨다면 남자들이 그럴만 했기 때문일것이라고 생각하기로 한다. 뭔가 그 당시 이스라엘의 남자들은 부정을 저지르지도 않고, 여자를 함부로 대하지 않으며 여자를 함부로 의심하는것도 아니라고 여기겠다. 그래서 남자가 참고참다가 여자를 고발하는식으로 했을거라 짐작하도록 하겠다. 

 

보니까 쓴물을 마시면 임신이 되지 못하는 모양이다. 어쩌면 혹시 낙태를 시키는 약이라도 되는걸까?

부정을 저지르는것은 나쁘지만 ... 예수님이 오신 뒤로는 악인에게도 죄를 씻어낼 방법도 제시해주어야 하는데...

다른 죄들은 속죄제사를 하면 괜찮지만 여자의 부정은 용서해주지 않는것인가....
